Phil Stuart-Douek, was born in Blackpool, 2nd Feb 1966 and moved to Manchester with his family when he was just three years old.

Educated first at Victoria Park Junior school and then Stretford Grammar School for Boys he left in 1982 with a handful of "O" levels and no clear idea of what to do with the rest of his life.

It took a motorcycle accident in 1986, which left him with a broken hip and a 3 month hospital stay, to decide him on a course of action; and in 1989, he started studying at Salford School of Nursing, qualifying in 1992 as an RGN.

He married Jill and became stepdad to Matthew in 1998 and continued nursing until 2003, when he left the NHS to work as a Clinical Applications Specialist for Philips Healthcare, training medical staff in the use of Patient Monitoring equipment.A company reshuffle left him redundant in 2005 and he did a number of jobs over the next few years, even spending a year back in nursing, this time in a private hospital, before finally being rehired by Philips first as a Clinical Applications Specialist, and latterly as an account manager, where he still continues to enjoy working.

He is a self confessed geek and splits his leisure time, such time as he has, between his computer, writing, authoring websites or reading science fiction and fantasy novels. Should you wish to do so, you can contact him via the contact page.
